Meet Carri Brown

First, I’d like to extend my sincere congratulations to Jon Slater, who has announced his retirement from the position of County Auditor for Fairfield County.  It has been a pleasure to work with County Auditor Slater for most of my nearly 30 years in county government. Now that Jon is concluding his time of service, I am asking for your support and vote to serve as Fairfield County’s next County Auditor.

Experienced.

In November of 1988, I began my career with our county as a Deputy Auditor with the Auditor’s Office.  I prepared its first ever Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and became a Certified Government Financial Manager – a certification I continue to hold.  During my tenure, I brought technology to the office for financial, real estate, and settlement processes and established a dedication to and culture of customer service.  Valuing customer service has been a hallmark of my service to our county in multiple capacities, including my service as Chief Deputy Auditor of Finance, Child Support Director, Interim Job and Family Services Director, and currently as County Administrator.

Innovative.

With 12 years of service in the County Auditor’s Office, 12 years in child support and social services, and more than 8 years with the County Commission, I have the skills and experience to immediately transform the County Auditor’s Office from good to great. As a life-long learner, I thrive in situations where I can apply my knowledge and experience while also engaging in new, innovative processes and opportunities. I believe I can put my degrees – a Master of Business Administration and a Doctorate in Organization and Management – to work for the office to engage in continuous improvement to make operations and customer service even stronger than it is today.

Dedicated.

For the past 35 years, I have dedicated my life to Fairfield County, not only with public service, but also with community service. I have served as President of the United Way of Fairfield County, a board member of Destination Downtown Lancaster and the Special Improvement District, and active participant for multiple other boards and committees. Additionally, I have served as a member of the Board of Revision to review real estate property values, along with the County Auditor and County Treasurer for 8 years.

Endorsed.

Each of our Commissioners – Dave Levacy, Steve Davis and Jeff Fix – support me for County Auditor.  They know no one will work harder or smarter – and no one will be as effective and efficient.  They know I have the right skills and demeanor – and proven ability – to bring together all elected officials and leaders within the county’s political subdivisions, including townships, cities, and villages.

Just as I have dedicated the last three decades to our county, will dedicate my time and talents to lead the County Auditor’s Office to be the best in the nation. Thank you for your consideration, and I hope I can count on your vote.
